This Privacy Policy explains what information Family Chore Manager (the "Service") collects, how we use it, and your choices. We built the Service to collect as little personal information as possible.

Information we collect

• Account info: the parent's email address and password (passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text), your family name, and a generated family code.
• Family content: the display names and usernames you create for family members, plus chores, assignments, completions, points, and any notes you enter.
• Technical data: basic logs (e.g., timestamps and error logs) needed to operate and secure the Service.

Children's information

Child accounts are created and controlled by a parent/guardian, who provides the limited information used for them (such as a display name and username). Parents can edit or delete their children's accounts and data at any time from the admin panel. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we do not require a child to provide more than is needed to use the chore features.

How we use information

• To provide and operate the Service (authentication, chores, points, approvals, leaderboard).
• To keep each family's data private and isolated from other families.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not use your family content to build advertising profiles.

Data isolation & security

Each family's data is stored in its own separate database, isolated from other families. Passwords are hashed, sessions are protected, and connections are served over HTTPS in production. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Optional AI assistant

The Service includes an optional AI assistant. If enabled and connected to an AI backend you configure, messages you send to the assistant are processed to generate a response. Do not enter sensitive information into the assistant.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your family's data at any time by contacting us, and we will delete it within a reasonable period.

Your choices

You can view, edit, or delete family members and content from within the app. To delete your entire family account or request a copy of your data, contact us.
